Europa Organisation, (EO) headquartered in Toulouse, France, was founded by Florence and Marc Doncieux in 1987. In the more than 25 years since EO’s establishment, it has collaborated with various professional societies, organisations, institutions and opinion leaders to become the pre-eminent organiser of congresses in Europe. In mid-2009, Europa Organisation opened its first international subsidiary in Singapore, expanding its expertise to institutions throughout Asia, followed by the establishment of Europa Organisation Gulf, based in Dubai, servicing the Middle East. Europa Organisation Africa (EOAfrica), was launched in late 2013 as the South Africa-based African division.
Europa Organisation specialises in medical meetings, among them the highly successful leading international interventional cardiology series, PCR. Professor Jean Marco, a doyen of European interventional cardiology, founded PCR in close partnership Europa Organisation. The highly acclaimed annual PCR courses have now been extended beyond EuroPCR and PCRLondon Valves, to include PCR Innovators day, PCR China Chengdu Valves, PCR Istanbul Peripheral, GulfPCR Dubai, AsiaPCR Singapore LIVE, PCR Tokyo Valves, as of 2014 AfricaPCR in South Africa and the participation in Montreal LIVE 2015. PCR’s mission is to serve the needs of each individual patient by helping the cardiovascular community to share knowledge, experience and practice.
Building on the innovative facilitation approach of PCR, Europa Organisation has changed the face of medical congresses, transforming them from a series of didactic lectures into an interactive learning experience. Delegates at congresses organised by Europa Organisation engage in case-based discussions, Q&A debates and hands-on workshops in the form of Training Villages, rather than just passively listening to presentations.
The new African subsidiary successfully hosted the first AfricaPCR course in Cape Town in March 2014, followed by a highly acclaimed recent 2nd AfricaPCR course in 2015 in Johannesburg.
Another key Europa Organisation initiative introduced to South Africa is the ViTAL postgraduate adult/learning training programme launched in Johannesburg, South Africa in February 2015. ViTAL is a unique programme of personalised life-long transformative learning for healthcare professionals aimed at ‘training the trainers’, first introduced at PCR. While it has focused mainly on interventional cardiologists elsewhere in the world, it has broadened its focus in South Africa to other specialties.
EOAfrica is headquartered in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, and headed up by director Sue McGuinness, a veteran in the field of congress organisation in South Africa. She is well-known in the medical congress industry for her 25 years’ experience, business and personal ethics, integrity and reputation. Testimonials and references from many clients confirm her proven track record.
Since opening its doors to Africa, Europa Organisation Africa has been appointed as congress organiser to a number of meetings, including the Dermatology Society of South Africa’s annual congress 2014, the International Ventilation through the Ages Symposium 2015, the 2015 Critical Care Society Congress, the 6th official congress for the Federation of Infectious Diseases Societies of Southern Africa 2015, as well as the annual SA Heart Congress for both 2014 and 2015.
The partnership between Europa Organisation and Sue McGuinness aims to be of immense benefit to local and international congress clients. Every year, Europa Organisation brings tens of thousands of people together to attend many international major meetings and congresses. The establishment of EOAfrica in Johannesburg brings local clients access to Europa Organisation’s international resources, networks, experience and expertise. Meetings can now be advertised through international websites, online publications and promoted at international meetings. Its extensive worldwide contacts (18 000 mailing list) are an invaluable resource for African congress hosts wishing to reach an overseas target market, as is its large network of global speakers, who can be approached to attend local congresses. In addition, being an international player, Europa Organisation has the ability to encourage international “World” meetings to consider hosting their event in South Africa.
The EOAfrica team is available to meet your future meeting, symposia or local or international congress needs and looks forward to receiving your enquiry.
